摘要: This article gives an account of a recent qualitative research project which investigated the understanding religious belief underlies current practice collective worship in sample state schools large town Southern England (Cheetham 1999). It describes four powerful themes pervaded and argues from these that was effectively being understood as ‘individually chosen, private, practical guide to living’. is further argued this falls almost entirely within liberal, rationalist framework proving increasingly inadequate for society more plural postmodern character.
