摘要: Acute mental disorder necessitating admission to hospital is often accompanied by disturbed behaviour that threatens the health of person concerned or those around them. A range containment methods are used psychiatric professionals keep patients and staff safe. These strategies strongly emotive attract strong moral valuations, yet differ sharply between countries. This paper reports a study investigate relationship attitudes these methods, exposure education practice. It was hypothesized culture psychiatry in country would socialise students' views towards locally dominant pattern relative evaluations. Nine cohorts student nurses at different stages their training one UK University were asked complete ratings on 11 methods. Containment fell into five groups, with mechanical restraint net beds attracting most severe disapproval. Neither evaluation nor intensity evaluations, changed systematically duration training.
