摘要: Medication withdrawal (MW) is an important method of provoking seizures and activating epileptiform EEG activity during the diagnostic work-up patients evaluated for epilepsy surgery. Previously it was suggested that MW might influence seizure-type activate cortical areas otherwise not producing discharges, leading to a false localization irritative zone. In order investigate this we reviewed 42 consecutive cases MW, 36 patients, 3-year period. We compared seizure frequency, seizure-types interictal discharges before after MW. Seizure frequency significantly higher whole group found increase in propagation: proportion complex partial secondarily generalised increased, while simple decreased following one-third EEGs were different from those recorded However, these discordant findings (and MW) concordant with onset zone lesional conclude effective reliable method, does lead
