摘要: Glucocorticoids, stress hormones released from the adrenal cortex, have potent modulatory effects on emotional memory. Whereas early studies focused mostly detrimental of chronic and glucocorticoid exposure cognitive performance classic genomic pathways that mediate these effects, recent findings indicate glucocorticoids exert complex often rapid influences distinct memory phases. Specifically, been shown to enhance consolidation emotionally arousing experiences, but impair retrieval working during test situations. Furthermore, growing evidence indicates different depend a nongenomically mediated interaction with arousal-induced noradrenergic activation within basolateral amygdala. In this paper, we present model suggesting endocannabinoid system, lipid-based retrograde signaling might play an important role in mediating such system modulating experiences.
