摘要: Background: The recent availability of a monoclonal antibody against human telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT) has enabled us to investigate the activity tissue specimens more easily than by classical TRAP assay. In this study, we studied teromerase in thyroid tumors using antibody. Materials and Methods: We immunohistochemically investigated hTERT expression 166 neoplasms. Results: Normal follicular cells did not express hTERT. papillary carcinoma, high was observed 34.5% cases it directly linked stage presence lymph node metastasis. 39.2% were classified as group, showing significantly higher incidence that adenoma, 9.8%. anaplastic 73.7% regarded which larger percentages carcinomas. diagnostic usefulness measurement for discriminating carcinoma from adenoma. Its specificity positive predictive value at 90.2% 83.3%, respectively, while sensitivity negative low. Conclusion: These results suggest that: i) contributes transformation differentiated ii) may contribute diagnosing but whether can be applied preoperative diagnosis fine-needle aspiration biopsy remains unclear.
