Perpetuation of Retracted Publications Using the Example of the Scott S. Reuben Case: Incidences, Reasons and Possible Improvements.

摘要: In 2009, Scott S. Reuben was convicted of fabricating data, which lead to 25 his publications being retracted. Although it is clear that the perpetuation retracted articles negatively effects appraisal evidence, extent literature cited had not previously been investigated. this study, better understand discredited research, we examine number citations Reuben’s within 5 years their retraction. Citations were assessed using Web Science Core Collection (Thomson Reuters, NY). All citing screened discriminate between in work quoted as retracted, and data wrongly without any note retraction status. Twenty 274 times 2009 1024. 2014, 45 % at least once. only 25.8 clearly stated Annual decreased from 108 18 2014; however, percentage correctly indicating status also declined. The top-25 %-journals, well journals research area, declined sharply after 2009. Our show even retraction, nearly half are still mentioned one quarter citations.
