摘要: Background We have occasionally encountered advanced lung cancer patients with disseminated carcinomatosis throughout the body and/or within lung. This study investigated clinical characteristics and outcomes of adenocarcinoma miliary carcinomatosis. Methods Patients adenocarcinomas harboring epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations who presented (either intrapulmonary or distant site) were enrolled in study. Clinical characteristics, treatment responses, survival collected from medical records. Results The most frequent EGFR mutation was an in-frame deletion exon 19 (n = 44, 68.8%). Arginine substitution leucine 858 21 alanine glycine 719 18 detected (29.7%) one patient (1.6%), respectively. Patients tended to be female non-smokers. They expressed E19 more frequently than without dissemination had shorter progression-free times response tyrosine kinase inhibitors (9.7 vs. 12.8 months, P = 0.003) poorer overall (15.9 29.0 P = 0.077). Multivariate analyses revealed that metabolic tumor volume correlated time. Conclusions Our data indicate relatively those dissemination. The poor prognosis may reflect a high burden, as represented by volume.
