摘要: Purpose The advent of intravitreal pharmacologic therapies opened a new perspective in the treatment Irvine-Gass syndrome with potential side effects. In this case report we evaluated efficacy steroid sub-Tenon injection chronic macular edema. Methods Five injections, each 0.8 cc 4 mg betamethasone, were performed at 1-week intervals, followed by second cycle 5 injections same cadency months after first 52-year-old Caucasian woman post-cataract surgery edema (Irvine-Gass syndrome). Results At examination, patient showed best spectacle-corrected visual acuity (BSCVA) 0.52 (logMAR). Optical coherence tomography (OCT) foveal thickness 893+/-4 microm and total volume 15.41 mm3. Eleven starting treatment, BSCVA was 0.39 (logMAR) reduction metamorphopsia better color sensitivity. OCT 217 8.05 Differential map between last OCTs 660 microm. Conclusions significant improvement observed postsurgical how steroidal proved to be useful as first-step therapy.
