摘要: Background:  Measurement of innate markers in nasal mucosa, tonsils and adenoids might lead to new views about the role immunity upper airway. In this study, expression human β-defensins (HBD) 2 3 toll-like receptors (TLR) 4 various airway diseases was investigated. Methods:  Surgical samples from patients with tonsillar disease (n = 18), hypertrophic (n = 10) sinonasal (n = 30) (chronic sinusitis, polyps, turbinate mucosa as controls) were investigated by immunohistochemistry. Quantification HBD-2 mRNA, TLR-2 mRNA performed real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Results:  Immunohistochemistry revealed a strong tissue. HBD-3 showed more than tenfold higher tissue adenoids, whereas biopsies, only negligible defensin could be measured. No significant differences found for TLR-4 between tissues, significantly lower compared other tissues. Conclusion:  These results demonstrate paranasal adenoids. Toll-like receptor all these tissues illustrates possibly important immunological sentinel function mucosa.
