摘要: The purpose of this study is to determine the expression CD14 as a marker innate immunity in hypertrophic adenoids and tonsils. Twenty-four pediatric patients (age <12 years) with obstructive adenotonsillar hypertrophy, confirmed by sleep were included study. Intensity positive infiltrating cells was assessed immunohistochemistry specific histologic areas. In tonsils, immunoreactivity demonstrated intraepithelial lymphocytes located basal layer stratified squamous mucoepithelium. significantly higher mucosal layers inter-follicular areas tonsils than adenoid tissues [(p < 0.001), (p = 0.021), respectively]. submucosal tonsil 0.002). Hypertrophic from children OSA are prominent sites defense, over CD14. enhanced expressions may be an important factor for development persistence enlargement causing children. illustrates immunological sentinel function upper airway.
