摘要: Intestinal permeability was assessed before and 1, 2, 4, 8 12 weeks after commencing a gluten-free diet (GFD) in eight coeliac subjects. morphology quantified six subjects on normal diet, GFD, 21 T-cell activity measured the by soluble interleukin-2 receptor (sIL-2R) concentration (normal less than 477 U/mL). increased 10-fold with geometric mean value of 0.72 decreased to 0.17 at 4 (P = 0.04), 0.07 0.010), 0.20 0.015) GFD. Two showed poor response gluten withdrawal. Quantitative intestinal no significant improvement 3 6 months Mean +/- s.d. sIL-2R concentrations were 5-fold higher control values 1400 530 U/mL 750 200 GFD 0.004). We conclude that improves rapidly majority although some abnormal persists. This may be due varying degrees ingestion resulting continued immune activation.
