摘要: The effects of alpha 2-adrenoceptor agonists and antagonists were examined on seizure thresholds determined by intravenous infusions convulsants in rodents. 2-Adrenoceptor proconvulsant; dose dependently reducing the threshold for pentylenetetrazol- or bicuculline-induced tonic seizures. Strychnine-induced seizures unaffected. clonidine, BHT-933 UK 14,304 did not modify pentylenetetazol-induced at low moderate doses but high clonidine proconvulsant. facilitatory effect pentylenetetrazol-induced was blocked 14,304. proconvulsant action contrasted with that ethyl-beta-carboline-3-carboxylate, a benzodiazepine receptor contragonist, which markedly reduced initiation rather than threshold. selective blockade suggests noradrenergic mechanism is involved control propagation initiation.
