摘要: In recent decades, much work has been invested to describe forest allocations with high societal values. Yet, few comparative analyses have conducted on their importance and differences across the regions of globe. This paper introduces a conceptual framework characterize priority areas defined as identified higher values in context multi-objective management. The six dimensions (designation objective, prioritization objectives, governance, permanency, spatial scale, management regime) general approach (integrative vs. segregative) explain form role for providing services. was applied two case study regions—Pacific Northwest USA (PNW) Central Europe (CE). Differences between exist all dimensions. Late-successional riparian reserves are specific PNW, while protection against natural hazards is CE. mainly focused public lands whereas CE they include private lands. Priority PNW designated larger longer time commitments. CE, integration objectives prevails, tend be single objectives. greater tolerance timber within compared allowed. Convergent trends application indicate mixing segregation approaches
