Rural perception to the effects of climate change in Otukpo, Nigeria

摘要: The study has further examined rural perception to the effects of climate change. used settlements in Otukpo, Nigeria as a case study. Primary and secondary data were utilised for Data collection was done through use questionnaire with open-ended questions multiple answers. A total 100 questionnaires randomly distributed among household heads 10 selected from 58 Spatial distribution analysed using nearest neighbour statistical analysis while descriptive statistics such graphs tables present data. Rural Otukpo are may be tending towards clustering. This is indicated by an Rn index value 0.96 analysis. Most (59%) have distance two three kilometres between them. There inadequacy functional facilities poor access services Otukpo. Respondents faced risk agricultural occupational loss (22%), water shortages (42%), flooding (29%), land based conflicts (16%), health hazards (12%), erosion (26%), migration (57%). With evidence change ascertained globally including Nigeria, concludes that elsewhere vulnerable which evident literature. Government should plan appropriately optimize standard living provide basic settlements.
