摘要: This research identifies the commuting mode choice behaviour of 3537 adults living in different types transit oriented development (TOD) Brisbane by disentangling effects their “evil twin” adjacent developments (TADs), and also controlling for residential self-selection, travel attitudes preferences, socio-demographic effects. A TwoStep cluster analysis was conducted to identify natural groupings respondents’ environment based on six built indicators. The resulted five neighbourhoods: urban TODs, activity centre potential TADs, traditional suburbs. HABITAT survey data were used derive commute people these neighbourhoods. In addition, statements reflecting both preferences collected as part survey. Factor analyses derived factors then control self-selection. Four binary logistic regression models estimated, one each modes (e.g. public transport, active less sustainable transport such car/taxi, other), differentiate between findings verify that TODs enhance use reduce car usage. No significant difference found respondents suburbs TADs. results confirm hypothesis TADs are TODs. indicates choices residents neighbourhoods is a missed policy opportunity. Further efforts required successive transition into order realise full benefits these. TOD should be integrated with context specific design principles.
