Co-creating local socioeconomic pathways for achieving the sustainable development goals

摘要: The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) recognise the importance of action across all scales to achieve a sustainable future. To contribute overall national- and global-scale SDG achievement, local communities need focus on locally-relevant subset goals understand potential future pathways for key drivers which influence sustainability. We developed participatory method co-create socioeconomic by downscaling SDGs driving forces shared (SSPs) via case study in southern Australia through contextual analysis community engagement. linked SSPs identifying describing how they affect achievement SDGs. co-created six with track towards futures different levels fulfilment each encompasses narrative storyline incorporating locally-specific ideas from community. tested validated This extends two dimensions–into broader field sustainability SDGs, recontextualizing them at scale. can achieving bottom up alignment global initiatives.
