摘要: Abstract A series of poly(ethylene terephthalate) fibers various molecular weights was first drawn to a practical maximum draw ratio and then allowed contract thermally under tension for 10, 20, 38%. These contracted exhibit high degree plasticity even when tested at—100°C extension rates 1300%/sec. An attempt is made explain this behavior by means systematic study morphological changes which occur during thermal contraction. The interpretation the results small-angle wide-angle x-ray diffractions, infrared spectroscopy, birefringence suggest existence two types amorphous domains; those separating adjacent crystallites in microfibril microfibrils.
