摘要: Measurements of dissolved and particulate suspended Mn concentrations throughout the Rhine Scheldt estuaries are interpreted in terms cycling processes Mn. Dissolved is removed lower estuary into form. This gives rise to elevated coastal matter; also partially returned upper by estuarine circulation processes. produced dissolution either water column owing low pH Eh prevailing at salinities or anoxic sediments, from where it subsequently diffuses overlying water. Budget calculations other arguments show that a significant part carried down river recycled between estuaries. An important accumulates within sediments; fraction escapes marine environment mainly Very similar conclusions can be drawn for two with quite different residence times both particulates.
