摘要: Metals are present in various compartments or reservoirs the aquatic system. A simplified description is based on four abiotic and three biotic (Fig. 1). As reservoirs, deposited sediments, interstitital water, suspended matter surface water can be distinguished. Under reducing conditions sediments provide waters with high concentrations of nutrients heavy metals, which may influence composition through processes diffusion, consolidation, erosion bioturbation Open image new window Fig. 1. Review role micro-pollutants an ecosystem (Salomons 1985). Apart from physical processes, biologically mediated reactions occur sediment, by some metals transformed methylated species (Salomons Forstner 1984). The contribution to metal burden organisms depends their bioavailability habitat. Filter feeders planktonic exposed dissolved particulate metals. deposit meiofauna other hand ingest sedimentary particles associated pore as well bacteria living sediment.
