摘要: Background: Nepeta dschuparensis Bornm (NP) is used as a medicinal herb in Iran. In traditional medicine, this extensively employed for curing ailments such cardiovascular diseases. NP has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. This project examined the effects of extract on cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) interleukin-1β (IL-1β) protein levels its efficacy neuroprotection cerebral ischemia-reperfusion model. Methods: Twenty-six male rats were randomly divided into 3 groups: 1) sham (n=6): no middle artery occlusion (MCAO) procedure, 2) control (n=10): MCAO procedure treatment with normal saline, 3) (20 mg/kg, i.p.) at beginning reperfusion. To examine injury caused by ischemia, we measured motor coordination infarct area using rotarod test triphenyl tetrazolium chloride staining, respectively. IL-1β COX-2 levels, inflammatory markers, immunoblotting assay. The statistical analyses performed SPSS, version 16, data are expressed means±SEMs. Statistical difference was evaluated one-way ANOVA, followed post hoc LSD (P<0.01).Results: Treatment significantly diminished volume alleviated disorder induced ischemia. administration attenuated increase too (P<0.01).Conclusion: beneficial related to ability decrease COX-2.
