摘要: AIM: To investigate the effectiveness of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) in maxillary sinus augmentation (MSA), with various scaffold materials. METHODS: MEDLINE, EMBASE and SCOPUS were searched using keywords such as graft, MSA, lift, floor elevation, MSC cell-based, different combinations. The searches included full text articles written English, published over a 10-year period (2004-2014). Inclusion criteria clinical/radiographic histologic/ histomorphometric studies humans animals, on use MSCs MSA. Meta-analysis was performed only for experimental (randomized controlled trials trials) involving an outcome measurement histologic evaluation analysis reported. Mean standard deviation values newly formed bone from each study used, weighted mean assessed to account difference number subjects among studies. compare results between test control groups, differences regenerated 95% confidence intervals calculated. RESULTS: Thirty-nine (18 animal 21 human studies) (between 2004 2014) considered be eligible inclusion present literature review. These demonstrated considerable variation respect type, design, follow-up, results. 9 (7 2 studies). estimate random-effect model 9.5% (95%CI: 3.6%-15.4%), suggesting positive effect regeneration. Heterogeneity measured by I2 index. formal confirmed presence substantial heterogeneity (I2 = 83%, P < 0.0001). In attempt explain observed, we meta-regression publication year, support type (animal vs humans) follow-up length (8 or 12 wk) covariates. After adding model, no longer significant 33%, 0.25). CONCLUSION: Several have potential cell-based approaches MSA; further clinical are needed confirm these
