摘要: Abstract Public transit plays an important role in emergency evacuations, particularly for areas where public serves as a major commute mode commuters. Microsimulation techniques provide great flexibility assessing different scenarios situations. Combining GIS-based network analysis with microsimulation techniques, this study developed framework to simulate evacuations using rail transit. Applying the hypothetical attack on Pentagon, investigated performance of Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority’s Metrorail large-scale evacuations. A network-based was performed estimate number riders association each metro line and station. Using VISSIM, multi-mode micro-simulation software package, integrated pedestrian model evaluate The simulation results suggested that if potential is effectively utilized, it could be very useful resource during evacuation. This demonstrated evaluating complex evacuation strategies. approach used can applied analyze other similar situations help develop effective plans.
