摘要: Developmental amnesia (DA) is a selective episodic memory disorder associated with hypoxia-induced bilateral hippocampal atrophy of early onset. Despite the systemic impact hypoxia-ischaemia, resulting brain damage was previously reported to be largely limited hippocampus. However, thalamus and mammillary bodies are parts hippocampal-diencephalic network therefore also at risk injury following hypoxic-ischaemic events. Here, we report neuroimaging investigation diencephalic in group 18 patients DA (age range 11-35 years), an equal number controls. Importantly, uncovered marked degree two thirds our patients. In addition, as group, had mildly reduced thalamic volumes. The size anterior-mid (AMT) segment correlated patients' visual performance. Thus, addition hippocampus, structures appear play role deficit.
