摘要: Titi monkeys (Callicebus spp.) are one of two primate genera that live almost exclusively in groups with adult-size individual each sex and exhibit extensive biparental care offspring. We provide a quantitative description infant pairmate behavior natural Callicebus discolor contributes to limited literature on the behavioral ecology wild titi monkeys. collected data during 3-year period from social living primary tropical rainforest at Tiputini Biodiversity Station Amazonian Ecuador before after birth five infants. In order evaluate potential energetic costs associated offspring, we examined relationships between care, behavior, adult activity budgets. found males were responsible for transporting, grooming, sharing food, playing As predicted, that, following an infant, adults groomed their partners less, spent less time contact, huddling pairmates decreased. Contrary our predictions, females did not increase feeding, decrease moving nor resting time. Overall, suggest pair may experience times intense but any putative mitigated by adjusting physical activity. Future studies should investigate energy intake expenditure, consider how variation observed affect reproductive success.
