摘要: Abstract The Tigris and Euphrates basin (TEB) has long been one of the active dust sources in Middle East. In last four decades, inefficient water resources management intensified activities TEB. Dried bodies have a high potential for emission. Therefore, several studies conducted TEB to identifying sources. Nevertheless, role body changes emission is not yet clear. present study aimed evaluate effect natural anthropogenic drivers on emissions. long-term spatial-temporal monitoring was performed using 36-year Landsat 5, 7, 8 multi-spectral images. Using visual interpretation MODIS-RGB143 images, 904 storm events were identified, about 61% them originated from dried beds lakes, marshlands, river margins. lowest area observed period 2000 2004 2008 2012. two mentioned periods decreased by 31% 33%, respectively. Severe droughts occurred region during these periods. Overall, this led an increase almost 23% activities. However, relationship between change necessarily linear straightforward. general, it can be concluded that largest source
