摘要: Male and female age are important factors that can influence mating remating behavior. Females discriminate against or prefer older males, but there have been relatively fewer studies on how male remating. Here we showed in wild flies of the Mexican fruit fly Anastrepha ludens (Loew), when females were given a choice between males different ages, younger preferred to mate with over while less selective. Also, had longer copulation durations than females. On other hand, lower success, compared young middle-aged under no conditions. However, mated faster males. did not remating, strongly determined they old. It is unclear if receptivity mechanisms switched off at reluctant remate due possible costs mating. We discuss our results terms decisions.
