摘要: Stormwater best management practice (BMP) design must incorporate the expected long-term performance from both a water quantity and quality perspective to sustainably mitigate hydrologic impacts of development. Infiltration trench structures are one many infiltration BMPs that reduce runoff volume capture pollutants. Research on longevity these is sparse, leading concerns about their value impeding implementation. In present study, an was monitored its inception determine over time total suspended solids (TSS) efficiency. The intentionally undersized accelerate longevity-related processes. provided 36% TSS removal rate displayed distinct decrease in ability infiltrate stormwater first three years operation. Results indicate through bottom BMP became negligible, while sides remained active 3-year study period. results lead recommendations for design. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
