摘要: Background Preoperative assessment of gastro-esophageal junction (GEJ) adenocarcinoma stage and its location according to Siewert are essential for planning the therapeutic approach. The present study was aimed at analyzing utility endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) in evaluating GEJ whether this modality added EGD improves type. Methods The results 51 patients studied by plus EUS (EGD/EUS group) were compared with 54 only (EGD group). Results A differentiation pT1 tumors attempted measurement tumor length using 4 cm as a criterion. This goal not achieved because high rate advanced less than (sensitivity specificity 81.3% 34.2%, respectively). Conversely ability very reliable (92%). accuracy defining type 72.5% 64.8% EGD/EUS groups, respectively (P = 0.394). Some difficulties distinguishing between II III observed both groups an extremely low (44%) classifying group. Conclusions EUS seems be differentiating from tumors. It shows 72.5%, some J. Surg.
