摘要: Background: For patients with senile ptosis, aesthetic blepharoplasty can be combined ptosis surgery. However, the amount of skin excision necessary in is not clearly defined by measurements upper eyelids. Objectives: The authors preoperatively evaluate to excised blepharoplasty. Methods: Fifty bilateral were included this study. from eyelids was selected based on preoperative redundant skin, equivalent maximum lid height (MLH) while manually stretching eyelid upwards minus resting (RLH) eyes closed passively. Ptosis surgery (such as plication aponeurosis) followed blepharoplasty. Results: Preoperatively, mean MLH 35 mm right and 36 left. Mean RLH 25 bilaterally. (height) 10 11 At six months postoperatively, 29 23 both sides, respectively. Significant differences between pre- postoperative RDH seen sides ( P < .001). No complications due overexcision observed, but revision performed for two asymmetry folds five recurrence drooping. Conclusions: Preoperative heights (stretched at rest) appear useful determining required ptosis. Level Evidence: 4 ![Graphic][1] [1]: /embed/inline-graphic-1.gif
