摘要: To defend themselves against herbivores and pathogens, plants naturally release a variety of volatiles including various alcohols, terpenes, aromatic compounds. These can deter insects or other from feeding, have direct toxic effects, they may be involved in recruiting predators parasitoids response to feeding damage. They also used by the attract pollinators, protect disease, interplant communication [l-21. Based on these natural properties, essential oils containing compounds been recently touted as potential alternatives current commercially available insecticides. In reality, pesticides botanical origin for centuries crops stored products repel pests human habitations. Among most well known are pyrethrum, neem, rotenone, nicotine plant oils, although more than 2,000 species found possess insecticidal activity [34]. However, while solely their activity, uses fragrances, flavorings, condiments spices, many considered medicinal uses. Given this widespread use, numerous already widely chemistry is generally well-understood.
