摘要: Abstract Cation distribution have been investigated using X-ray diffraction, magnetic and Mossbauer spectral studies in chromium-substituted nickel ferrites prepared by aerosol route. indicates that the chromium atom occupy octahedral site upto x =0.8, then also enters into tetrahedral site. The saturation magnetization decreases linearly with increase of concentration due to diamagnetic nature Cr 3+ . However, interesting behaviour is observed coercivity. Initially it increases slowly but when >0.8 a very large has observed. This was attributed specific cation which results an unquenched orbital angular momentum anisotropy. Room temperature spectra as obtained samples exhibited broad doublet resolved two doublets corresponding surface internal region atoms. annealed at 1200 °C show sextets, were fitted different indicating local environment both coordinated iron cation.
