HIV testing: the cornerstone of HIV prevention efforts in the USA

摘要: An estimated 1.2 million persons in the USA are infected with HIV, of whom approximately 20% unaware they infected. HIV testing and knowledge serostatus have important individual public health benefits, including reduction morbidity, mortality transmission. Although is necessary first step to prevention, more than half US adult population has never been tested for HIV. However, this proportion increasing due revised national recommendations make a routine part healthcare, expansion efforts at local, state levels, progress development adoption new technologies. In article, we describe essential role as prevention strategy, examine recent advances technologies implementation, identify future directions USA.
