摘要: OBJECTIVE: Preliminary assessment of a new instrument, the Brief Traumatic Brain Injury Screen (BTBIS). DESIGN: Cross-sectional study 596 soldiers returning from Iraq and/or Afghanistan, comparing consistency their reports traumatic brain injury (TBI) across instruments with similar TBI questions, and in brief follow-up interview. SETTING: Military base. MEASURES: Self-reported probable on BTBIS 2 longer questionnaires, RESULTS: Self-reports were higher BTBIS, than instruments. Participants who screened positive generally provided consistent information about CONCLUSIONS: In this initial study, demonstrated promise as part triage process mass casualty situations, permitting individuals to self-report continued symptoms. Further including full validation reliability assessment, is warranted required before these screening tools can be fully evaluated. Language: en
