摘要: Pre-oviposition ejaculation is known to occur in the three-spined stickleback and may help determine fertilisation success when sperm competition occurs as a consequence of males adopting alternative mating tactics. However, fish typically show rapid reduction motility after exposure fresh water, which would appear limit utility such strategy. Here, we use computer-assisted analysis (CASA) examine changes motion over time showing for first that this can be reversed by an increase osmolality. We consider possibility ovarian fluid have same effect, suggest pre-oviposition associated with higher than might otherwise case.
