摘要: Abstract A variable-thickness gas-fluidized bed is designed, fabricated and tested as a potential tool for investigating hydrodynamics in, elutriation from, beds of particulates different physical properties. It found that the empty channel pressure drop dependent on its thickness decreases latter increased given gas velocity. In this initial effort, particles narrow size range silica sand average diameter 774 μum have been used, minimum fluidization velocity measured 31.75-, 44.45-, 50.40- 63.50-mm thick beds. The same also determined in separate 20-mm two-dimensional bed, 3054-mm square fluidized bed. wall effects are 89 mm thickness. discussion few similar studies made by other workers context our present results.
