摘要: Teresconularia argentinensis,a new genus and species of conulariid (Cnidaria, Schyphozoa) from the Angosto de la Quesera conglomerates Santa Victoria Group (Ordovician), Cordillera Oriental Salta, Argentina, is here described. argentinensis was found during standard laboratory procedures for conodonts. The taxa present some striking features, such as: 1the presence rounded, smooth corners, without grooves, 2- very small size (1,4 mm) an almost complete thecae, 3- occurrence schott. These characters emphasize idea that Ordovician conulariids were much diversified anatomically, adding evidences to our understandings paleoecological issues, as miniaturization. Finally, should be highlighted argentinensisis oldest known in South America.
