摘要: Abstract The distribution, fine structure and function of the sensilla present on antennal club Rhynchophorus palmarum were studied. No sex dimorphism was observed. Scanning transmission electron microscopy showed five types hair-like structures, four which evenly distributed club. Two hair (IV V) wall pores, a characteristic olfactory sensilla. antenna numbers 11,190 ± 3040 type IV 7360 1500 V hairs. Using single sensillum recording, we identified 17 receptor neurons (ORNs) basis their responses to pheromone host plant odors, triggering synergic behavioral responses. We characterized highly specific sensitive ORNs tuned aggregation (18% ORNs; 0.01–1 ng response threshold) odors such as ethyl acetate, ethanol, acetoin guaiacol (10% 1–10 threshold).
