摘要: Two independent P-element enhancer detection lines were obtained that express lacZ in a pattern of longitudinal stripes early germband elongation. In this paper, molecular and genetic characterization gene located near these transposons is presented. Sequence analysis cDNA clone from the region reveals has high degree similarity with Drosophila snail ( Boulay et al., 1987 ). The sequence extends over 400 nucleotides, includes encoding five tandem zinc finger motifs (72% nucleotide identity; 76% amino acid identity). This also conserved homologue Xenopus laevis (76% 83% identity) Sargent Bennett, 1990 We have named -related escargot (esg) , conservation common to all three genes ‘snailbox’. A number genomic DNA fragments cross-hybridize probe snailbox suggesting are members multigene family. expression dynamic complex. Early elongation, RNA expressed identical one observed two lines. Later development, cells will form larval imaginal tissues. allelic l(2)35Ce an essential genome.
