摘要: AIM: To determine the predictive value of increased prolidase activity that reflects collagen turnover in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). METHODS: Sixty-eight HCC (mean age 69.1 ± 10.1), 31 cirrhosis 59.3 6.3) and 33 healthy volunteers 51.4 12.6) were enrolled this study. Univariate multivariate analysis used to evaluate association serum α-fetoprotein (AFP) values clinicopathological features, such as tumor size, number presence vascular macrovascular invasion. The divided into groups according invasion (diameters; ≤ 3 cm, 3-5 cm ≥ 5 number; 1, 2 3, invasion; yes/no). Barcelona-clinic liver cancer (BCLC) criteria stage patients. Serum samples for measurement alpha-fetoprotein levels kept at -80 °C until use. Prolidase measured spectrophotometrically AFP concentrations determined by a chemiluminescence immunometric commercial diagnostic assay. RESULTS: In HCC, evaluated number, BCLC staging classification. significantly higher compared controls (P < 0.001). associated size 0.001, P = 0.002, respectively). also differed terms classification Furthermore showed significant difference grouped classification, separately 0.032, 0.038, 0.015, there was correlation (r 0.616; 0.001) between whereas did not show positive levels. CONCLUSION: Considering both could contribute early diagnosing carcinoma.
