摘要: Veratrum album is a poisonous plant that can easily be mistaken for the yellow gentian, Gentiana lutea, used in beverages. Two adult men were brought to emergency department six hours after drinking gentian spirit. Each presented with nausea and vomiting, preceded by headache, developed within one hour ingestion, followed diarrhea of patients. Vital signs normal except heart rates 42 45 beats per minute two patients, respectively. Laboratory findings unremarkable. Electrocardiograms revealed sinus bradycardia. Activated charcoal anti-emetics given patients admitted observation toxicity. The further clinical course was uneventful. Heart returned eight admission. Retrospective investigation beverage confirmed V. G. lutea. Patients toxicity following unintentional ingestion should kept under generally recover supportive care.
