摘要: Diverticulosis of the bronchial wall was found in patients not only with, but also without, chronic obstructive lung disease; it appeared to start as submicroscopic depressions and dilatations ducts gland on mucosal surface. Multiple fused form a diverticulum which herniated between through smooth-muscle cellular bundles. Rupture latter resulted large diverticula. Cough weakened wall, from whatever causes, likely lead diverticulosis. Exaggerated unequal formations diverticula at sites dichotomy suggest either that effect cough could be different segments or subsegments, there are local differences connective-tissue atrophy, inflammation, structural defects. Mucous plugs, macrophages, red blood cells, inhaled particles, probably carcinogens accumulated diverticula, apparently interfere with airway cleansing cause continuous irritation. The relationship diverticulosis small-airway disease cancer needs further clarification.
