摘要: Assessments of public perceptions the characteristics a nuclear power plant accident and affective responses to its likelihood were conducted 5 months before 1 month after Chernobyl accident. Analyses data from 69 residents southwestern Washington showed significant test-retest correlations for only 10 18 variables--accident likelihood, three measures impact characteristics, reactions, hazard knowledge by governmental sources. Of these variables, two had changes in mean ratings; frequency thought discussion about nearby both increased. While there personal consequences (expectations cancer genetic effects), decreased. The results this study indicate that more attention should be given assessing stability risk over time. Moreover, demonstrate experience with major can actually decrease rather than increase threat.
