摘要: This article reviews previously described methods of fresh tissue sampling from radical prostatectomy specimens for research and describes a method used in Oxford which is simple, logical cost effective. The utilises systematic zonal approach to procurement order meet the increasing requirement samples with detailed morphological information such as zone origin, tumour stage Gleason grade. involves punch biopsy 4mm thick transverse slice cut 8mm superior apex. 9 biopsies are taken each specimen following distribution: Mid anterior, right lateral, peripheral mid, left transition zone. was validated by successfully 7 out 8 cases (88%). In 6 positive cases, present more than 1 biopsy. mean time receipt completion freezing 23.5 minutes. Tumour stage, grade were determined all biopsies. All reported RCPath guidelines no compromising margins. A presented, balances need accurate routine histopathological reporting increasingly complex be attention details stage.
