摘要: The enzyme aldose reductase plays an important role in the osmo-protection mechanism of diverse organisms. Here, we show that yeast is encoded by GRE3 gene. Expression carbon-source independent and up-regulated different stress conditions, such as NaCl, H2O2, 39 °C carbon starvation. Measurements activity intracellular sorbitol wild-type cells also indicate stress-regulated. Overexpression increases methylglyoxal tolerance Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Furthermore, high expression complements deficiency glyoxalase system a glo1Δ mutant strain. Consistent with this, vitro vivo assays endogenous substrate reductase. addition NaCl or H2O2 to exponential-phase triggers initial transient increase level methylglyoxal, which dependent on Gre3p Glo1p function. These observations metabolism stimulated under conditions; they support degradative pathway, this compound metabolised action
