摘要: The chromatographic behavior of native titania was investigated in aqueous normal phase chromatography using a set N-methylated xanthines as polar test solutes. In agreement with hydrophilic interaction on bed, the retention xanthine models increased mainly along their molecular polarity. Adsorption these molecules hydrated surface prevailed mechanism for low water contents mobile phase. Several could be easily discriminated number and position methyl groups while nitrogen atom at 3 found deeply involved titania. To get further insights interactions occurring titania, derivatives based ligand-exchange evaluated function buffer concentration type. separation efficiency comparable to that observed zirconia but lower than obtained silica due mixed-mode interactions. However, exhibited superior ability recognize several isomeric positions comparison silica.
