摘要: Purpose The purpose of this study was to determine the reproducibility a very short echo time (TE) phase rotation stimulated acquisition mode (STEAM) sequence at 3T with focus on detection glutathione. Methods Ten healthy subjects were scanned two separate visits. Spectra acquired from voxels placed in anterior and posterior cingulates. Reproducibility assessed using mean coefficients variation (CVs) absolute differences (ADs), reliability standard error measurement (SEM) intraclass correlations (ICCs). Phantoms containing glutathione metabolites overlapping resonances test validity quantification. Results Excellent as illustrated by CVs ≤8.3% ADs ≤11.6% for both regions obtained other commonly reported metabolites. measures γ-aminobutyric acid glutamine good overall ranging 6.4%–10.5% 8.6%–15.5% regions. Glutathione relative (SEMs ≤9.9%) fair (ICCs = 0.42–0.51), respectively. Phantom studies demonstrated ability accurately detect great precision (R2 = 0.99). Conclusion A TE STEAM proved reproducible difficult quantify but important psychiatric neurological illness. Magn Reson Med 72:603–609, 2014. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
