摘要: Abstract The management and remediation of contaminated environments increasingly involves engagement with affected local residents. Of late, risk communication tools guidelines have drawn attention to the stress concern residents as a result heightened awareness localised contamination need address these less visible impacts when engaging communities. Despite this emerging focus, there is an absence research exploring factors that predict resident worry about neighbourhood contamination. This paper aims shortcoming by drawing on data from cross-sectional survey 2009 adult in neighbourhoods near 13 sites across Australia. Analyses used ordered logistic regression determine sociodemographic, environmental, knowledge-based influence residents' degree worry. findings suggest age, gender income significantly affect Being knowledgeable contaminant was associated lower degrees Conversely, having stronger sense place within predicted higher Type also impacted worry, being likely hydrocarbon, asbestos waste than other types contaminants. Our analyses can be reduced through improving access accurate information development specific reduction strategies tailored each aimed at heterogeneous distribution amongst residential populations.
