Epileptic, organic and genetic vulnerabilities for timing of the development of interictal psychosis.

摘要: Background Age at the first psychotic episode and an interval between onset of epilepsy that psychosis reflect developmental processes interictal psychosis. However, factors relating to these indices remain unknown. Aims To identify clinical variables are associated with timing development psychosis. Method In 285 adults psychosis, effects epileptic (epilepsy type), organic (intellectual functioning) genetic (family history psychosis) on were examined. Results The mean was 14.4 years. Some occurred within a few years seizure. Generalised epilepsy, normal intellectual function positive family early psychosis. Conclusions Early in people may other individual vulnerabilities rather than epilepsy-related damage.
