摘要: ABSTRACT OBJECTIVES Population health interventions must be built upon a solid understanding of community knowledge and behaviours. A telephone survey tool was designed to investigate diabetes awareness in London, Ontario, Canada. METHODS Two thousand respondents with without were asked about diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol lifestyle habits. RESULTS Seven percent had diabetes. Fewer people than those smoked cigarettes (7.1 vs. 21.3%, p=0.008); more took daily acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) (37.9 13.1%, p CONCLUSION People less likely smoke take ASA daily. However, frequently unaware diabetes-related metabolic risks, results or targets.
