Diabetes-Related Knowledge and Preventative Practices Among Government Employees with Diabetes in Kuwait.

摘要: Objectives: Diabetes mellitus (DM)-related knowledge and preventative practices are vital for the successful management of this condition. In Kuwait, few studies have been conducted to evaluate preventative practices DM patients. This study aimed assess DM-related among government employees with in Kuwait examine associations between knowledge, other variables. Methods: cross-sectional was June 2015 involved 345 employees from 15 government ministries Kuwait. A self-administered Arabic-language questionnaire designed DM-related knowledge based on Knowledge Test recommendations American Diabetes Association, respectively. Results: total 312 ministry agreed participate (response rate: 90.4%). The mean age 45.6 ± 10.6 years. 63.4% were male 64.1% Kuwaiti. median DM knowledge score 9 out 14 practice 5 14.
